One of the best things about visiting Hobart is the amazing fresh food.
Foodie Guru’s favourite sprouts are grown by Naked Carrot, a boutique Tasmanian Microgreen Growers: www.nakedcarrot.com.au
You are able to freshly cut and wash whenever you feel like a fresh snack, it tastes sweet and refreshing at the same time.
There are also lots of fruit farms where you can pick your own and eat straight away for an antioxidant boost. Being in the nature doing this will also help your heart to be happier and mind to be calmer. (The raspberries were from a farm but the black berries were picked free from the side of the road).
Next is FoodieGuru’s favourite Icecream. Although it is not recommended that you eat alot of icecream, once in a while it makes a good treat.
The best is icecream that is made with alot of milk instead of cream. This allows the body to digest it better. Also keep in mind the type of cone that the icecream is served with. Although a little bit more pricey, for your health the wafer cones (right) are much better than the one on the (left).
So with so many choices in flavours.. which one does FoodieGuru choose?
Everytime we arrive at Mures, Foodie Guru will buy 1 big scoop of Cookies and Cream Ice-cream.
At the Hobart Farmers Markets FoodieGuru ran into an interesting booth selling hazelnut oil. After a quick heartcheck, this oil is much better for your health than olive oil. So for nutella lovers like me who is advised to cut down, opt for these hazelnut coated dark chocolate bags – tastes amazing! The oil can be used to dip bread in or cook with.
Fresh Oysters is a must, free from the side of the sea – you can eat it fresh with lemon or with some sweet chilli sauce! yummy
And last but not least – Fresh sashimi salmon! Remember to eat it with Wasabi and as little soy sauce as you can!
yum yum :))) Thank you for sharing! Cookie’s and Cream is Patrick’s favorite too! That picture you took of the person holding the ice cream doesn’t look like FoodieGuru… is it Him? 🙂
