Gastric problems

For those who have gastric problems, you have to particularly be careful with you choice of food as your stomach is more sentitive than others.

Some types of food will react in your stomach, unfortunately it is best to avoid the following, (in order from worst to bad).

Do not have any:

  • Soft drinks (Coke, Sprite, Fanta) good news – beer is OK. To understand the impact, drinking 1 can of coke can make your stomach upset for 1-2 weeks.
  • Pineapple
  • Vinegar
  • Grapefruit
  • Mangoes in particularly young mangoes
  • Thai mango salad
  • Tamarind

If you really want to eat the following from the list below , it is best to line your stomach with other food first and not have it as the first or last thing of your meal. for example: eat rice/ bread then eat mango then eat rice/ bread again. This will help reduce the reaction to your stomach lining.
If you really want have these between meals:

  • Oranges
  • Eucalyptus drops
  • Asam laksa
  • Lemon

Tips to help your gastric condition: when you eat, try to chew 30x before you swallow because it will reduce the workload of the stomach and also heal the stomach.

Other tips include eating on time and not skipping meals.

  1. Hi FoodieGuru 🙂 I saw a post recently that only said “Butter”. Was there something you wanted to share about butter? Good, bad or best kind to use?
    Thanks,
    Pat
